Michele,
Send Peter my congratulations.
The finish line was right in front of the Bullock
Museum. We parked about 6 blocks away (closest)
anticipating via cell phone that Randy would come in
around 3:30. He was delayed a bit due to a flat tire,
so we caught him with the picture around 4.
So there is a lot of walking to get close to the
finish line for the picture, but Randy was very happy
that we were there. He said the cheering crowds
really did a lot for him.
Oh, btw, there is a photographer that took pictures
all along the route. Your rider has a number on the
helmet, and the pictures can be retrieved by that
number. Don't know if there is a charge, probably so.
I'm impressed. I've received several responses back
from friends who knew someone on the ride. Randy will
be returning next year to do it again. I don't know
why anyone would put themselves through the torture,
but it is a great personal challenge as well as a
wonderful cause.
