[AGL] red Mercedes (car talk series)

We own and drive a '79 Mercedes 280 sedan with less than 80,000 miles on her
(original) engine. It is, as you know, one of the last of the actual
'steel' cars, but handles like a ...well, a European....car.

She was actually owned by a little Irish woman in SF who drove her to church
and then parked her for twenty years in the garage. I swear this is a true
story. I bought her from her nephew Ed Hannon.

I have, naturally, spent more money trying to get her "road worthy" (in part
because she got beat to shit riding on the top of a transport trailer,
traveling from San Jose, CA to Herndon, VA.) than her original cost to me in
'98. Motor is in great shape, but other things dry out, die, or get eaten
by little furry critters when you aren't looking.

Tan in color, btw.

One of the possible "advantages" of this car should be that it would be
possible to get it repaired almost anywhere in South America, as MBs were
once very much liked there.
