But, of course. He was the one who had that magnificent cabrito cooked in the ground for 24 hours. When we witnessed setting it up late on Thanksgiving night I clicked to the idea that the "religious" kiva, with the fire pit, of the Anasazis was really about cooking. Way back then when men did the cooking the ceremony was raised to a religious experience.
It really was a blessed event, IMHO, when we got to participate.
