Hans,

That's why his schpritz on living surrounded by
Mexitude was so fascinating. He was so
interestingly torn between attraction and
repulsion. The squalor and the noise he said
was just as you might imagine it.

I got the impression that he did NOT want
to end his days in le Mexique but that it
was not going to be easy to get his German
social security bennies back but i may have
misunderstood him.

Mike

Hi Mike,
Harald will be here for 3 months. I expect he will come to
Berlin at some point with his Mom. She (they) visited us last
year and were pleased to be in Berlin. She´s 88 now a lovely person.
Mexiko was good and bad for Harald. He´s having to fight for his
retirement there. Slow to get. He was a German and English teacher at
a small German prep school near Guadalajara.
He´d leave but has property, a quadruplex, which is also some income
source for him. His long term partner died a couple of years ago. He had
designed this nice liveable home in classic mexican style. Now Harald
won´t leave it, can´t have others mange it, you know
It would then always be `vacant` Lets see what he does.
More later,
hans
