Michele,
Cookies are an excellent contrivance. They permit
a Web site to recognize you automatically when you
connect to them without you having to identify yourself
to them.
As for malware that gets into your computer, you
should flush it every few weeks using one or 2 of
the free anti-virus programs available. For PCs,
I recommend Spybot and Ad-Aware, both free.
Everytime i run them they find and delete up to
30 items from folders and from the registry..
I guess there must be similar frre programs
for Macs.
Mike
