Mistrust for religion being what it is, this is a fresh response to the BushCo administration. It was they who created a war for running interference for a lot of un-American legislation which laid the groundwork like President's enabling acts for fascism. I welcome the religious loyal opposition to the war and the suspension of civil rights brought about by the Republicans behind a smokescrene of war.

    Subject: THIS PASTOR HAS “THE SPIRIT” 

     

    A courageous Prayer given at the Opening Session of the Senate. When the Minister was asked to open the New Session of the Senate, everyone was expecting the usual banal generalities, but this is what they heard: 
   
  "Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your Forgiveness and to seek your Direction and Guidance.  We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who do ‘Evil’, but call it ‘Good’; We know War is Evil and that is exactly what we have done.  Americans through its Congress has lost its Spiritual Equilibrium and reversed its Values.  We have neglected to Learn Facts and enacted Laws and called it Expediency. We have Rewarded Corporate war profiteers and called it Business as Usual. We have neglected Congressional debate and called it Partisanship.  We have ignored Pedophiles and called it  control of their votes for the Party.   We have Exploited the Poor immigrants and called it Guest Worker Program. We have Killed our Unborn and called it Choice.  We have Coveted other Nations’ Possessions and called it Fair Trade. We have Ridiculed the Time Honored Values of our Forefathers and called it Enlighten Enrichment. We have Abused Power and called it global politics of
 neo-colonial imperialism.  We have Invaded Iraq and called it an Occupation for Peace and Security. We have Tortured suspected Terrorist and called it mere Pressure. We have ended Habeus Corpus and called it Needed Police Powers.  
    

    Search us, Oh God, and know our Hearts today; Cleanse Us from Every Sin and Set us Free. Amen!

"The response was immediate. A number of Legislators walked out during the Prayer in protest.

In 6 short weeks, the Church, where the Rev. is Pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively.  The church is now receiving International Requests for copies of this Prayer, from India, Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this Prayer on his Radio Program,  "The Rest of the Story" and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.

    
With the Lord's help, may this Prayer sweep over our Nation and whole heartedly become our desire so that We again can be called "One Nation Under God."

If possible, please pass this Prayer on to your Friends.  "If You don't stand for Something, You will fall for Anything.  "
