[AGL] teachers

Most American citizens appear to prefer to spend their money on big trucks, big houses and big investments....but not on schools, teachers and the related infrastructure. The Bottom Line: it is cheaper to hire and arm some (recently paroled/child molesters/alcoholic??) guys at minimum wage and send them out to the over-crowded, under-financed, under-staffed and over managed schools than to build more schools and hire more teachers. Parents have no business complaining until they address the "core issue" - the resistance to increased taxes to pay for better teachers better schools. But you do "get" what you pay for and if all you pay for is something that is little more than a twelve year prison term with tests, why be surprised when you have to hire "guards"?
This type of "reasoning" is exactly why we have the current mess in the ME. Lets do the Short Term Thing on the Cheap and Hope..Hope...all will work out. If it doesn't, find a convenient scapegoat. Many educators agree with the statement that the smaller one-room school house (think: Amish) provided better educations than the current Mega-Schools/Prison-ettes.
American taxpayers and indifferent/lazy/stupid parents "own" this problem. If Buffy gets shot by...moron school chum or visiting, mentally unstable imbecile or cretinous school guard...well, small price to pay for that MacMansion and its accoutrements. Not too good for Buffy, of course, but as long as it isn't "my" Buffy....why worry, stocks are on the rise, the war is going well and my Congressman is my friend!
Hail to the Chef...uh...Cheif...uh...Chief. (Wel, hu kneds speling anywy?)

The schools already seem like minimum security prisons for the young. Now they will become gaurded with armed men. I hate the turn things have taken.
