[AGL] Where to live?

All I know about Wales is what I read on the Net. Much of the choice
property was grabbed up by British Yuppies in the last decade, or so I have
read. Scotland? Good things and bad. Health care is wobbly and crime is
high in major cities. Elsewhere, cold, colder and the food is...well...dour
at best.
SE England, where I have spent a little bit of time is lovely. I think
Cornwall might be good as it is really an extended peninsula jutting out
into the Atlantic where the remnants of the Gulf Stream peter out for sure.
Cotswalds have been consired "Idyllic" since before Stonehenge; many artist
and poets of the 18th and 19th C loved it, wrote about it and painted it.
Not been there. Want to.
We are currently trying to get a fix on Asheville, N.C. which gets high
ratings for a small US city/region with "culture"...ie good Universities and
a good art and music scene. Lots of Scottish/Irish/Appalachian musicians.
It is where dulcimers go to die, I think.
Let us know what you find out? Suggest quick trip, btw. Don't move
"blind". Been there and don't want to again.
