[AGL] false alarm or maybe the real thing

MIke-- we're going to India as tourists, and to see a guy (father of one of
my wife's students) who runs a company teaching Indian businesses how to
prosper be being more client-friendly. He's found us a place to stay at the
Internatioal Culture center in Delhi. We're also going up to the Himalayan
foothills close to where the Dahli Lama lives, staying for a few days in the
old British summer capital, Shimla. We are a little concerned about
terrorism in public places such as markets and at large festivals. The
Northwestern flight cancellation seems a probable over-reaction; if there
were real terrorists aboard, why would they draw so much attention to
themselves by passing around cellphones and changing seats-- probably an
extended family or a group of Indian businesspersons.I suspect the flights
over and back will be the worst parts of the trip for us, as is often the
case.

Not much additional info on the Northwestern flight.
One of the passengers said that a dozen passengers
were passing cellphones around and changing their seats.
Dutch cops are interviewing them.
Jon, tell us please why you are going to Delhi. As
a tourist? Do the Indians have you fill out a card
with a space for "motive of the trip" like when
one goes to France?
Mike
