[AGL] the truth about this year's Red River Motors yard partay

talking to Gale Samoraby today who left the partay after
I did, it seems that Brett laid on 6 kinds of margharitas.
This in addition to the usual kegs and table of bottled
spirits.

Brett was wheeled into the yard before I left. Looking
at him immobilized on the motorized gurney with his
intendants, I realized that I had first met him right
here in Artie & Doug's auto lot before he had the
accident.

He was hanging out in the yard as I was with Artie's
long time mechanic now dead whose name escapes me
for the moment. He was an ex-con who did body work
like a pro pulling the wrecks A & D bought at the twice
weekly auction into shape. He did this at one end with a
derelict limousine on which was mounted a 12v winch.
The other end of the car was chained to a cement block
buried in the earth.

He had very salty remarks to make about Doug;
he got on well with Artie. He died in his sleep in
a trailer where he lived with his wife and her kids.
Other than a visceral anti black viewpoint, he had
great charm and great stories. And impressive
auto mechanic competence. He had a work beer
jones and A & D let him keep a refrigerator at
hand. In later years, he stopped drinking at work.

Anyhoo, I was introduced to Brett who was trying
to scrape up enough for a 6 pack. But that was
then and this is now . . . or is it?

On a related subject, Dave Moriaty you should stop
sending in year old photos. Your recently posted
pictures were of Jaxon and Bob Simmons standing
next to Bob Vennell and his recently married wife.

Funnily, Simmons who was at this year's partay
was dressed the same as in Dave's picture: signature
black shirt.

Gale said she didn't see Bob Vennell before she
left.
