a good many people lived in Houston in the pre-AC days. people can and 
will live just about anywhere. having said that, i agree about Texas 
weather in general. seems the older i get, the more heat-sensitive i 
become. but i'd take Laredo or El Paso over Houston for the climate any 
day.                twisty
