Yeah, Gerry, but us old farts didn't go to kindergarten. It warn't in
little towns. So first grade had to do it, and maybe it took better as
there was more opportunities, more ripened minds.
I remember begging me mom, pleeze, pleeze send me to school, so she
found a little baptist thing, but it closed when the heater quit that
winter. so it was back to walking around the table while our
housekeeper played 40's soul music and ironed. and that wasn't so bad
actually.
