And Katy Keene never married K.O. Kelly, and where were the parents of
Nancy (Katy's niece?) and Sluggo?
Well, Doonsebury let his characters be less fixed, as did were
Dagwood's family, who slowly changed. And Lil Abner and Daisy wed, and
Kathy. None I know of died or divorced. We've yet to see if the
Doonesbury Hunter Thompson character shows up again.
But animals....maybe they just don't need the insurance.
