Back in the daze of Ms. Madalyn's ministry, Ray Brown called me to arrange 
to take me to a surprise meeting. Imagine my surprise when we arrived at a 
regular meeting of her followers, over which she presided. I was taken back, 
as I had not been prepared to meet the plain, middle-aged, plump woman who 
had made such an impact on the entire US culture. I felt very uncomfortable, 
especially as I was wearing around my neck a silver cross that Jerry Gene 
Massey had made for me, and I did not know the sort of protocol to observe 
for a meeting of the outspoken atheists. I do not remember the main topics 
of the rather mundane agenda. But I do remember distinctly the commanding 
presence of the dowdy woman and her eloquence in expounding the topics of 
the evening. Then I remembered that her training had been that of a lawyer, 
and that the good ones are very impressive, which she was. Leaving the 
meeting with mixed feelings, I had learned to appreciate the gutsy, fearless 
approach of Ms. O"Hare, and to respect even more the power of the courts, 
even though none of their doctrine could ever change my belief in Yaweh.
