They are .dat files. A .dat file generally contains data. Some photo editing programs generate .dat files to store data about the pic that you are working on, they should be discarded after you finish editing the photo. The mistake that people sometimes make is that they see the file name of their photo and think it is the .jpg file. It's a common mistake, there is no photo hiding in a .dat file.

Well how disappointing. I tried every type of download attachment/photo viewer I had, and still couldn't bring up the scanned photo or flyer you sent.

The other side of the car proclaims it to be "The Mary Jane Special 69"
leaving us to imagine whether the lady or the herb.
