maybe more about the Christo thing later, maybe not

In addition to Kelly and her cellphone and my grouchy friend in
public housing at Fifth Ave. & 119th. (Fifth Ave. is misleading,
when it gets to 119th it isnt Fifth Ave any more) I have another
respondent to ask about Christo's orange "Gates". He & I were
best friends for about 2 years or more. He married and she &
I alas did not hit it off. So me and Ed drifted apart. Fast forward
45 years later to last summer. He was in the phone book so I
phoned him.

Well long story short, my roommate & I visited him in his apartment,
same apartment he & his first wife had 45 years ago. Riverside
Drive address with a view of the river. The first wife has died, we
didnt meet his current wife.

So I asked him about the Christo thing.

He emailed this

Comments about "the Gates" at a later time.  Suffice to say that it caused 
friends to give delightful parties overlooking the park last weekend and the 
crowds in the park were festive, cheerful  and friendly ....   About the 
Gates themselves, their color, layout throughout the park, etc.... comments 
later....
