Wayne,

Pair.com which hosts our maillist recently reworked
the maillist services that it provides. I dont know why
they are now sending the message you quote below.

Just ignore. Our list does not have passwords for
subscribers. It is possible to automatically subscribe
and unsubscribe from standard type maillists by email
(including ours) but in practice I have been manually
typing in the email address when I add a subscriber or
unchecking a box when I unsubscribe someone when
requested.

Apparently some maillists provide passwords to subscribers
so they can access the message traffic and archives on some
Web page or other. But our maillist is just to exchange
emails with friends. So just ignore the message as it does
not apply to our maillist.

I hope I explained this intelligibly.
