How's It Hangin Mike: Thanks for your quick and informative reply. I haven't talked with my Son on this subject, he has his own e-mail address. Scooter (as to his name he was almost born on the back of my Harley) married, 2 children, XL works for State Office, etc. For the time being I would suggest you not send him mail, reason he tends to pick up too many bugs if you know what I mean. I enjoyed reading your historical overview. I knew Travis well, haven't seen him in years, other names are familiar. Just keep in mind ole friend, we all put our foot in our mouth occasionally therfore we must keep an open mind.
Have what ever kind of day you wish to have just remember this is the first day of the rest of your life. Amigos also, wayne (katfish) smith.....

Good Morning Wayne,
I appreciate your being on my list likewise.
Sorry about mixing you up with Richard Smith (note to
self: who is Richard Smith?)
Scooter Smith must be up to speed at the keyboard as he
knew how to subscribe to a maillist automatically.
history of the list: originally Connie Clark set up a Yahoo chat
group in order to have a big reunion party. Then Mary Ann
Wilson started round robining by putting everyone's email
address in the cc: or To: line. Then I offered to maintain it
as an email maillist because that option came FREE bundled in my
Pair.com account. This was agreed to and I became the
administer of it by default. I didnt realize at that time that that
was in a way incompatible with my shooting my mouth off as a
subscriber.
There was for a while a Web site associated with austin-ghetto-list
which was maintained by Karen Willis. Travis Rivers had agreed
to give Bob Simmons the money to register the address but not
entirely surprisingly he reneged on actually ponying up. Bob Simmons
at that time was operating off shore gambling Web sites in Costa
Rica.
So when some folks got crosswise with me, they up and
unsubscribed from the list. Famous people who have done
this are Fontaine and Bob Simmons. Other friends/old
acquaintances of ours who didnt much take to
reading/participating in a maillist (or MY maillist) were Ed
Guinn, Travis Rivers, Cliff Endres, Freda Miller, Joe Roe, Ramsey
Wiggins, Don Taylor, even Martha Hartzog was a subscriber for
a week of so, Ann Roe and many others, even Doug Breed was
subscribed for a week.
In principal all the subscribers knew one another back in
60s Austin Daze.
Among later subscribers who I didnt know from those times or
werent in the scene back then was a gentleman whose name I have
forgotten (I saw him on Austin Access TV recently) (Baird?)
whose rantings about American guilt I found so offensive
that I pulled his plug arbitrarily. Connie instructed me to
resubscribe him but I refused. Baird soon became an
off list financial advisor to Carole Londot and warned me
not to infiltrate the harddrives of his home computer
network. He was our weirdest subscriber and perhaps I
should have held my nose and not read his postings. But I
felt in a way proprietary about the list and he wasnt from
Austin 60s anyway. so i made the decision to pull his plug
in about 15 seconds thus eternally establing my utter depravity.
