I would beg to differ. It was indeed the religious center that put Bush back in office. The Democrats put too much stock in the cities and the votes there and neglected to figure out what Karl Rove did, that there are rural voters. Not rural voters in the sense of farmers but the suburbs where the urbanites went. These people have different values from MTV, BET and what the media precieves as their taste. They are not into Hip Hop and Rap. They like Clint Black and the Grnad Ol Opry plus they like God too and a lot of them are into Jesus.

I worked in San Antonio for a year building a television station for Pat Robertson, a contract is a contract and money is money.

These people aren't evil and bad, they just have a different world view, much of it the same as that of my grandfather and father. That, "Don't Tred on Me" idealism. I used to televise the Church on the Rock every Sunday, three services with 10,000 people showing up to hear the world. It is scary as hell when the guy in the back room says, "Look out there at the congragation, see the 30 people in the back row, they will give $5,000 to the offering this week." Now how did he know that? And he was right. These people are very conservative and I do mean very. They are also not poor or white trash, they live in fine houses in Alamo Heights and so forth. Look at the Leiniger Clan who give millions to conservative causes they sure aint poor and thier stock on the Dow is always high.

Its the Evangelicals, stupid.

Bush and company got previously
non-voting lower class Evangelicals
to get off their knees and vote.

surveys report 37% of Amurricans
claim to be Evangelical Xians.

now you know how secular Arabs
or Iranians must feel living in a theocracy.

of course our theocracy is nicer
than theirs.
