<P>Mike-- I'm glad you sent out the email from Jim. Although I had previously received it from you,I tried to interpret it for the guetto2 folk without quoting directly from it, and was met with a hail of hostility; Jim totally denied sending it, suggesting indirectly that you had made it all up. I still maintain that you were &nbsp;dissed in this case by Wayne and Gerry, but Wayne is a big-hearted guy, who can get mad at someone and still be a friend (except in my case, in which he totally wiped my out of his email world because of a comment I once made about how white celtic skin is most beautiful of all, whereas I mantain that the "beauty"&nbsp;of skin color is a subjective&nbsp; cultural concept). </P>

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; Mike, you remind me of Don Quixote, fighting
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; windmills! You want to pick a fight whether there's
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; one there or not! Is this a late midlife crisis, or
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; what?&nbsp;&nbsp;You send a blip out of the blue talking about
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; how you were insulted by an e-mail sent by Jim Strong,
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; but you don't forward the e-mail.&nbsp;&nbsp;There's no way to
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; know what Jim meant without seeing it, albeit he
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; rightly figured it was personal.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;It was personal but he posted it both to me and
<DIV></DIV>&gt;to agl. I should have allowed it to go through but
<DIV></DIV>&gt;it was so creepy I was ashamed to.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;That was a mistake it seems. Here's his email
<DIV></DIV>&gt;in its entirety

<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; very long interview with Theodorakis the great Greek
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; composer by an Israeli journalist
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; he is full of it just like Jim Strong and others but
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; more nuanced.
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; here's a snippet
<DIV></DIV>&gt;=================
<DIV></DIV>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp; &lt;reply&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;what a pathetic, whiney little schnorra weasel you
<DIV></DIV>&gt;are mikey ... i. e. Gai kakhen afenyam ....
<DIV></DIV>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;or, in the laternative, go engage in your favorite
<DIV></DIV>&gt;pasttime - anal (and/or) banal intercourse with your
<DIV></DIV>&gt;significant other doppleganager ...
<DIV></DIV>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;maybe you should try to get another waiter job -
<DIV></DIV>&gt;and avoid being fired this time for being a flaming
<DIV></DIV>&gt;asshole with the customers ...
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;peace and have another xanax.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;STOP HERE
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;I shouldnt have showed to Madelon as it upset her.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;What set him off I don't know. I said that Theodorakis
<DIV></DIV>&gt;and Jim Strong and others are full of it. The expression
<DIV></DIV>&gt;"full of it" seems so anodyne so what set him off?
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Pepi, I want you to know that I take pills for my male
<DIV></DIV>&gt;menopause and the tests show that it is under control.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;The figures are in range and that's science. Unlike
<DIV></DIV>&gt;FHR (female hormone replacement) medication ours
<DIV></DIV>&gt;is distilled from horny stallion pee.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Pepi also said
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; You are developing paranoid conceptualizations,
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; as ever, as you enumerate at length friends and
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; acquaintances in consideration of their possible
<DIV></DIV>&gt; &gt; view of you.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;At length? This is so unfair. Jon Ford mistakenly
<DIV></DIV>&gt;identified Wayne Johnson (40 year friendship)
<DIV></DIV>&gt;and Gerry Storm as having dissed me on
<DIV></DIV>&gt;JSDGMLG2.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;I wrote merely to disabuse him of an error. Jon
<DIV></DIV>&gt;has never even MET Wayne. Gerry I know from
<DIV></DIV>&gt;the Raw Deal. Jon Ford spoke ONLY of Wayne
<DIV></DIV>&gt;and Gerry.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;I shoulda stopped there. But at the keyboard a
<DIV></DIV>&gt;counterbalancing contrast seemed to be needed.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;So I named JS, Simmons, Ted Samsel and
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Fontaine also as folks who really REALLY dont like
<DIV></DIV>&gt;me. Pepi, that aint paranoid conceptualizations,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;that's simply the way it is. It's only 4 people, it's
<DIV></DIV>&gt;not a big deal. Sorry it's such a problem for you.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Afterwards Wayne confirmed my claim of friendship.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;And Gerry publicly giggled at Wayne's revelation of the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;LEGUME conspiracy against me.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;You're right about email being an imperfect medium.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;I have always thought that the charm of OUR maillist
<DIV></DIV>&gt;was that we knew each other in real life and saw
<DIV></DIV>&gt;one another at parties. So when reading Karen or
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Connie or other folks that we actually know in real life,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;it always strikes me how lifelike their emails are,
<DIV></DIV>&gt;you can almost hearing them speaking, it is SO them.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;As compared to folks one knows ONLY through
<DIV></DIV>&gt;email.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;I think the problem with my letters is that the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;charm of full self-expression is too tempting for
<DIV></DIV>&gt;me. My self-expression IS different from the
<DIV></DIV>&gt;usual Texan sensibility, I know that. But my view
<DIV></DIV>&gt;is that if I find myself living among folks with a
<DIV></DIV>&gt;more buttoned-up sensibility, the last thing I
<DIV></DIV>&gt;would do in my whole life would be to adopt it.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Alas, this decision does not easily make me
<DIV></DIV>&gt;friends nor do I have any ambition to run for
<DIV></DIV>&gt;elected office.
<DIV></DIV>&gt;
<DIV></DIV>&gt;It's like Jack Nicholson at the end of the Sean
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Penn directed movie The Pledge where
<DIV></DIV>&gt;Nicholson is sitting on the porch of his lakeside
<DIV></DIV>&gt;house drinking a beer and arguing with himself
<DIV></DIV>&gt;with gestures. Or is it?
