Question authority, just not the authority of the party planner...

Re: Your idea about moving the cooking/serving location.
Nah, Wayne,
The side yard is the better cooking/serving location because the guests seem to gravitate to that side yard next to the airstream. It is much more the center of things and, believe me, the cooks are more included there than at the "entrance" side by the driveway. I've seen this party in progress six times now and I am *sure* of the arrangement we laid out on Monday. The "band stand" doesn't become one until 6:30, after the gathering and the food have played out.
Read the note I sent to Peggy Jennings for the reasons I chose the food serving location
Trust me, kissable cook.
Frances

I still think (after much pondering, which I'm good at) that we should set pits and serving line on other end of house - WHY ? Its cooler under the shade trees, more space for hang-arounders-at pits - less snakey - people won't be walking thru where band is set up, easier access & egress, better parking, could use my 12 ft trailer to set pits on (keeps noses out from opening lids & losing heat - cooks won't be icelated (sp?) from goings on, totally better for crowd control. I could go on and on but I think you have listened enough to my ramblings. I behind U so do what er U think best.
