Thanks, Frances. My years at the Campus Guild were among my happiest and =
most creative at UT. I do wonder what happened to the people working =
there who took such great care of us (the black cook, Viola, was like a =
mother to the boys). It burned down and when I went to look for the =
place several years back I got lost.

Ghettz,
In case any of you were also co-opers when at UT this would be a nice =
site to respond to with your name and location for reunion notices, etc. =
I know BBBBBB is an old co-oper from Campus Guild and Carol Gustine, =
journalism major, was one of the people who alerted me to much of the =
ghetto lore and parties when we were living at Felicia co-op in 1962. It =
is now a parking lot but that old frame tinderbox nearly did us in a =
time or two.

Hi, Sharon, my favorite roommate from our UT days,
I went to an open house this afternoon for a co-op that was made out =
of Mrs. Morey's rooming house on Pearl and W. 22 1/2 St. There was a =
fire there last year and they completely rebuilt it into a three story =
co-op. They are trying to set up a data base of all the co-op alumni so =
I thought you might like to see this email he sent me.
I am having a terrific time politically ever since I was named the =
Hillary Rodham Clinton Support Network co-ordinator for Austin last =
summer when I was in San Francisco. I am getting to go to DC in April =
and attend a reception with the Senator on Monday after the March for =
Choice on Sunday, April 25. I personally think abortion is a sin and an =
abomination but I do believe that the government should respect the =
privacy of all women in this area. I also resent the church picking up a =
magnifying glass and crawling into the wombs of women to define and =
dictate morality. It is a magnificent obfuscation on the part of the =
church to focus its entire might on this as though it were the =
centerpiece of all that is moral when so many priests have been exposed =
as pedofiles. I still love my church but I revel in my cafeteria =
catholicism approach to faith.
I get email from Kathy Lafferty and probably got your address from =
our e-conversations. She also sent me pictures from y'alls reunion last =
year. What a hoot--all of us as old farts.

Dear Frances and David,
Thanks for giving me your contact information at the Arrakis event =
today. I have emailed it all to the ICC office where you'll go into our =
alumni database. We will send you stuff via US mail if you go to this =
webpage and put in your mailing address:
http://iccaustin.coop/alumni.html
And I personally both of you for your services as a Democratic =
delegate. I think we can take our country back this year, and am =
grateful to you for your work (I say this as an individual, and not as =
an official statement from ICC, which is, of course, officially =
nonpartisan).
Thanks again,
James Canup
Chair, ICC Alumni Steering Committee
