I thought your George W. Bush IQ assessment was creative satire but some of my addressees delight in catching anyone passing on urban myth, I got two such accusations back.
I saw Geoffrey, the Sect. of State, in person at ironically last night's Democratic Party Meet-up at that Irish place, Mother Egan's, or something like that, on W. 6th across from Katz. It was an internet effort apparently using the Dean model. Several of us thought that it ought to be moved to Scholz Garten, since the back yard is quieter than having 6th street as a backdrop for the speakers. With buses going by it was distracting. David Holmes, our National Committeeman from Texas, said a few words about the process of delegate selection. Then he let us in on the fact that the Secretary of State had been there, and had left, but specifically requested that he NOT be introduced. Then Elliott Naishtet shared with us the fun of being the hero of the Ardmore Oklahoma re-districting quorum conundrum that made national news, for a gaggle of worshipful fans in NYC. Basically it was a meetandgreet, Nancy Williams was there, Bill Reed and his lovely wife, Dave Shapiro, and a lot of new blood. It was a good reminder about the upcoming Travis County Democratic convention this Saturday.
