[9-11 HEARING]:
the snippets of the 9-11 hearing i was able to
watch on cnnn today were interesting.
i thought there was quite a contrast between the
clinton people (albright, cohen etc.) and the bush
people (powell, rumsfeld etc).
[KRUGMAN/CLARKE]:
richard clarke is coming up soon - maybe tomorrow?
- and should be *very* interesting. here's a web page
with 'common dreams' link to krugman's take on
clarke's appearance on '60 minutes.'

[YASSIN ASSASSINATION]:
the israeli strike against yassin has set the pot
to boiling as dave paperman (a work colleague with
hands-on experience over there) and i were discussing
at lunch today.
i think it is going to lead to some dire
consequences and that we are going to find out just
what hamas etc. have in their arsenal.
one thing i know for sure is that hamas (like the
ira) has had a 'hands-off' policy in this country
because of its fecundity for fund raising.
dave, who has been shot at and winged by terrorists
whom he then dispatched forthwith in israel, sees it
differently.
he says yassin was a major charismatic figure in
the educational process that has taught the younger
generation of arabs to hate all israelis and to accept
no less than their removal from the region and/or
extermination.
i think it's going to be a barn burner - one way or
the other. i also think it's important the points jon
and others have made about sharon etc be accepted as
valid whichever side your analysis sees as correct.
