Carmen, I am Gerry Storm, very tall guy. My sister Donna knew you in =
1959. I got out of the service and returned to Waco, crossed paths with =
you and James who was a former high school classmate. We got drunk often =
and acted like what we thought beatniks did in the cities. I was eager =
to meet beatniks whom I had heard about while stationed overseas. Pretty =
slim pickins' in Waco... I had a jazz band that played at the Alpha =
Grill in East Waco on Clifton Street, center of the Baylor beatnik =
movement (about 7 or 8 of them mostly from the drama dept.) Moved to =
Austin later, mission accomplished. In spite of conscious efforts to =
avoid the place I still find myself in Waco every few years, sometimes =
driving through old neighborhoods near Cameron Park where I grew up. =
It's still a natural wonder.
