Yes, there is life after retirement, (says one who has tried like hell to make retirement a way of life.) It is a time of self indulgence, of sleeping late, making wonderful things to eat that take time to prepare, maybe even baking bread, sopping up all the art and culture available, laughing and loving all the way to that luxury cruise banquet in the sky. As I told a terminal cousin of mine, each day is a whole new world--rejoice upon awakening and see how much pleasure you can cram into every day. We humans ideally should have some form of pleasure hourly every waking hour.
I sure enjoyed our Quilt viewing excursion to Winedale and La Grange.
Thank you for making it a five-some bringing Martha and Dennis. It was fun meeting them. I only regret that I didn't buy one of those little miniature die-cut-paper quilt kits. I could get into that. Thanks for treating us to lunch. That pork steak we had at Krutze's that I took home, even after four hours in the to-go container, was good and I managed to make two more meals out of it back in Austin. I don't recommend this for non-Alsatians, we whose ancestors survived ground zero of the Bubonic plague and have the immunity to prove it. BTW you sure are looking good,

my self question has always been "What do I do now?" even thinking back to earliest self-consciousness when i was reading stuff. the stuff in the books was always more interesting than I was to myself. <reply>
so this is apparently a good question for us now, now that we are looking at retirement (at least some of us).  I have over the years become a better planner, and try to get things lined up best I can for the future. With a pretty good 3-year-plan to get to retirement already in hand, I am currently working on a 'what then?' scenario.  Just thinking about it, I have come to the conclusion so far, that I would soon become very bored with myself without much to do.
