Gosh, Dean really did it to himself. that's all it takes, a little image flaw or foible. Famous disaster for a campaign, just like Nixon mopping sweat on live TV, and Dukakis' head inappropriately poking out of a military tank, or Trudeau annointed Gore as Prince Albert blah, blah. It all becomes very influential, and completely obscures the candidates' focus, qualifications and political sincerity.
The press makes a big deal out of something like what Dean did, which is unfortunate because I thought that Dean was just doing what he should do to rally his hard-working troops. 'So what', I say, if he screams. But it's all over for him. Who's next? Will one day on TV, Kerry' appearance be little too pale like a 'death specter'? People like Letterman, Leno and Jon Stewart are good at picking up on something like that, and sometimes it really sticks in the public's minds, allowing them to quit listening to anything the candidate has to say.
'muricans' are ninnies for the most part, looking for a simple 'handle', so they don't have to think too long. Just my 2 cents on this.
I hate to say this, but I think we should be prepared with some sort of strategy to take back the country if we don't regain the presidency this year.
