my roommate and i were just arguing furiously whether
Roseanne is funny in her new TV series.

It is done using Cops style candid video technique and it
is "about" Roseanne trying to get back on TV.

Thanks to owning her previous TV shows she is
tres rich although bitching constantly about
her brainless hangers-on which include son,
son-in-law, ex-husband (not Tom Arnold), present
boyfriend (a guitarist/poet), bookkeeper, makeup
lady, handsome Arab office manager and it seems many
many others.

she is funny in this her "real life" only very
occasionally, talking to her psychiatrist on the
phone, or asking her trainer for example if
something he said about a part of her body which
needed work applied to jews.

this (second) episode ended with the executive
producer she has hired for this venture (brilliant
casting -- he can hover effortlessly in an in-between
state of being sleasy and plausible at the same
time) taking her and an expensive TV crew to a
farmers' market to insult strangers. she is totally
unwilling to do this so that is a total bust as a
shoot.

we have seen all 2 of this 13 week sequence (if it
lasts 13 weeks).
