Is there a obit in the Austin paper for Margie. I remember that she hit town (from the east coast, or DC, I think) in the late sixties riding the tail of political leftists efforts to get Sissy Farenthold elected governor, instead of who? Mark White? Can't remember. Anyway, Margie was a democrat working in the George McGovern campaign as well. She had a fine wit and astute observation of political happenings in Texas, and gained a lot of Austin activists' admiration, including me.
Her son Jeffrey and my son Joe Ben were childhood friends, but I haven't much talked to her since I left Austin 20 years ago. Maybe someone has some more update info.
