<P>I don't disagree with the idea that "tyranny is tyranny" and Mike is right in the sense that I should "never" use the word "always". One is sure to be wrong some of time whenever one uses either of thos words...or, one could very well be wrong, or not right, er, and so on.</P>
<P>Nevertheless, there are frequent instances where tyranny began abroad, usually with empire building or sheer military adventurism, and then spread back to home. I would think about Rome and Rome for only two examples. One, under the early empire that devolved into the tyranny of Caesars like Nero and Caligula, or the Rome of Mussolini that began its foreign tyranny in Africa, especially Ethiopia. (It would also be useful to define the word 'tyranny' and what contitutes a "tyrannical regime". Kind of like 'porno', I can't define it, but I know it when I see it.) But Mike is right, there are lots of tyrannies that have been perfectly content to stay within their own borders and beat their own wives and children. I will be more careful with my use of 'always' in the future.</P>

<DIV></DIV>For once, I sort of agree with Michael: tyranny is tyranny, and if that is the mind-set of a ruler and his junta, it will be reflected simultaneously both in domestic and foreign policy. Bush's government has always been tyrannical and anti-rights, as seen in his cabinet choices and advisory circle. 9/11 was an attack from without, which Bush and Company used as an excuse to attack civil rights as well as to push their already tyrannical and exploitive Middle Eastern agenda much further.
