note to the world, well, part of it anyway, whilst shamelessly blogging

the news from Iraq this morning is frightening.
i wish it were not so and the possibility that
our jerk will be driven from office in 18 months
getting more and more a plausible possibility
doesnt make me happy about Iraq.
the wisest minds before the war, excuse me,
battle of Baghdad, predicted a few months
of relative quiet before bad things started
happening.
this IS the quiet part. as the fundamentalists
fan the people's anger, there will be a
never ending succession of bombings a la
Israel-Palestine. once there is very
successful bombing and 50 plus soldiers
die AT ONE TIME, the mood in this country
will change VERY FAST.
so who is it that's gonna be the Dems'
candidate?
and i am not happy about the future
body bags. at the end of each Jim
Lehrer TV new hour, he puts up the
picture of the lastest dead American
soldiers with their name, age and
home town on the bottom of the
picture. it tears at the heart to see
these pictures, especially their young ages,
snuffed in the greenness of their years.
what is Lehrer going to do if there
should be 50 plus pictures to put
up on the screen ON ONE NIGHT?
the Russian government in the "break-away
province" of Chechniya lost 50 people last
night in a single bombing of a building.
tough neighborhoods where they play under
Beirut rules as Tom Friedman used to say
about the Lebanonese civil war.
