Based on my experience of living years in various societies, both
third-world (like Indonesia) and weird-world (Japan) I would also nail diet
as a key suspect. People who work hard with their bodies and don't eat a lot
of red meat, starch, sugar etc. most probably have a milder libido. They
certainly look tighter and not so bloated. White rice has, however, done
much to create a race of fatties in Asia, the same way hamburgers and fries
has done back home.

The Indonesians seem exceptionally indifferent to sex, particularly the
Javanese. They can take it or leave it. The Filipinos and Thais (also Malay
stock, mixed up with Chinese and other strains) are very absorbed by the
subject, joke a lot, talk it to death and apparently screw a whole lot too.
Arabs are also known to be sex maniacs though that may just be Western
propaganda (Richard Burton onwards).

While the Japanese are absorbed in the subject, it is totally
intellectualized sex, expressed through visuals (cartoons, films), talk and
the social dance. I found that when it comes down to screwing the men were
incredibly slack, whereas it was not uncommon for female students to be
plenty aggressive.

In China, of course, the subject does not exist. There was an article
recently in the local press about 20-odd Chinese couples who were childless;
when visiting counsellors it was discovered that no one had ever informed
them of birds, bees and wiggly spermatozoa. They were also too embarrassed /
ashamed to try things out on their own, even after getting married (I am not
making this up, as Dave Barry always says).

Yes there are a billion people in China, but they must reproduce through
parthenogenesis or embogenation or with some other exotic technique.
