<P>I think Ted is talking about a mutiny caused by a rumor (I don't think it was true) of British in their conflicts with Indians in colonial India greasing their barrels with lard or something porkish in the bullets. If the little story Mike is sharing were true, it would no doubt stir up a big negative response among would-be Muslim terroists. Actually, the real response of the Russians to the movie-terrorists has been rather Ashcroftish-- further crack downs on civil rights, more state secrecy. Now terrorist incidents won't be covered by the regular press and TV, which will make it harder to have these events strike fear in the hearts of Russians, sine Russians will have no idea what's going on in their own country. Somehow, I think Russians will see through this ruse-- they've experienced totalitarian regimes before.</P>
