(Anyone care to guess how the first "feature
recognition" models for cruise
missiles came to be?)

I suppose that our wonderful heat-seeking missiles are based on the thermal
sensitive glands of the little pit viper, and that our sound-seeking
missiles are based on the little sonar beeps of the little bats, but what
lovely
lessons from nature have we adapted to develop the all new, bigger and
better "feature recognition" missiles? Some kind of array matrix of binary
(on/off) switches (as in a cathode ray tube) overlaid on a subject area? As
in a Goethe auroch oggle. Or what? I just don't know. Do tell, Bubba.

in the area of finger-printing, voice-printing, retina-dilation
detection, and chip-implantation... it's all to help the children!

New Side to Face-Recognition Technology: Identifying Victims

Since Sept. 11, discussion of the disputed technology of
face recognition has focused on its potential for
identifying terrorists. But English police want to use the
software to search for missing children.
