Manson-Osama connection?

Surely Fordster, you have not forgotten that our
esteemed UT English instructor Roger Shattuck held the
North American Chair of Pornosophy in the College du
Pataphysique? Perhaps you were too Paisano-crazed to
remember his ramblings at the parties about that
tremendous responsibility that had been "thrust" upon
him?
-------------------------------------------------
The "weird" web page you cite references some of the
same material (including some background on the famous
Jean-Paul Poulhan quote) that is found in the infamous
Evergreen Review edition on Pataphysics that came out
in the early 60's. I think it may even have had a
piece by Shattuck in it???
--------------------------------------------------
I "thank" Bubba's point is - in and of itself - a
Pataphysical one, and appropriately wicked. In fact, I
have come to the conclusion that Bubba is a rare jewel
- although not one who occupies the central part of
the Lotus sitting directly beside Lord Buddha - (and a
Certified Hoot as well). To quote Neil Young's song
(modified for gender) "Long May He Run."
---------------------------------------------------
I think ole J.P. Sartre handled the existence thing
purt well in "L'etrat et le Neant," non?
cf: http://www.multimania.com/nrub/existenceautrui.htm
---------------------------------------------------
Now that there page is in Frenchie - not Portagee,
Fordster.
---------------------------------------------------
Finally, to be a true "Experte in Matiere de
Pataphysique," Jon, you must have owned and driven a
Renault 4-CV for at least 18 months and have replaced
the trans-axel at least twice during that time.
----------------------------------------------------
As fer the vet'rans, I fall back upon my ability to
quote Red Sovine lyrics at length for protection, and
I hope you are not including the pretentious Persian
hordes of Saddam H in the descriptor "Arab." As one of
my close friends Skip the LRRP from the Nam would say,
"it's all a bunch of shit." I don't know many people
who have been through it though, who would care to
describe themselves as any kind of "killer
extraoridinare."
----------------------------------------------------
War itself is the ultimate absurdist experience. It
doesn't really prove, justify or sanctify anything -
it just tends to rearrange boundaries and hegemonies,
and to remove real or perceived "threats" (from the
"victor's" perspective). The characterizations of a
war being just or necessary or honorable are the
icings we put on that cake based upon our own beliefs.
