Uh, Jim Bob, I am having problems with your latest blurb.
"Faustian proclivity" Jerry Faust's tendencies?
"Hubris" Earlier form of semi-soft cheese?
"Algorithm" Albanian means of birth control?
These here thangs git my brain to hurtin'.

What probably got us "here" is our Faustian proclivity
to become what we originally may have rebelled
against, and to engage in boundless hubris as we
describe the "sins" and inadequacies of "others" when
they apply to us as much as anybody - if not more so.
-----------------------------------------------------
The correct alogorithm, to quote John Nash, needs to
be found - one that will infuse a massive dose of zen
and pataphysical perspective into politics.
Politicians themselves just need to adopt the "Super
Janitor Theory of Office Holding," which posits that
the body electorate allows them to perform the basic
custodial services needed to keep the HVAC working,
the food and water available and a base level of
societal needs met.
-----------------------------------------------------
They are allowed to do this, of course, because they
(to quote Lincoln) can't secure and hold other gainful
means of employment, and somebody has to do it while
the rest of us toil to pay the taxes that are supposed
to provide for those basic needs and services to which
we agree we all should be entitled.
-----------------------------------------------------
I fear a much simpler paradigm applies. There are
wolves, sheep and sheep dogs. The wolves we know by
their deeds, the sheep by their vulnerability to be
led along by the tinkling of a political "platform"
bell or a comfortable herd mentality. The sheep dogs
tend to hang out at places like the Ghetto and are a
threat to the "natural" order.
-----------------------------------------------------
Dubya, therefore, probably is the proof that wolves
and sheep occasionally mate. And look at Rumsfeld -
who better to play the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood?
That wolf should only smile half as good...
