The BBC said that about the gun culture in Kabul, not me. However, although
it is true that we have the army, the cops and the NRA toting
weapons around, and that it's really way too easy to buy one here (last
night I checked out what looked like 22 revolvers at Walmart-- only $39,
very good for a stick-up), I think what BBC news was talking about was a
pure gun climate, where people of all ages tote machine guns openly, where
young kids who don't know how to read and write can take apart and
reassemble a bazooka. I don't think I would want to be in a ground assault
against these guys!
