unless you dialin from home, you CAN NOT get newsfeed directly. 
you can get newsfeed from a number of Web sites though.

Usenet is mostly full of babble but not entirely. for
example if you want actual MDs to read your sad plea
for medical advice you go to 

sci.med*

if you want to eavesdrop on real airline pilots you
go to

rec.aviation.misc

on a recent visit there i learnt the term PAX which
is airline pilot slang for a passenger.

some of their suggestions about how to manage
highjackers were quite funny. one, a pro-gun
guy, made the point that if every PAX on a plane
packed heat, that too would prevent highjacking.
