Dear President Bush:

Deplorable as the suicide bombings have been, we must hear what our enemies have to say.  Just responding in kind, an eye for an eye, leaves us all maimed or blind.  Twice Arabic people have been cut off on television when asked what it was they wanted, what it the problem.  I think we have treated them like we did the American Indians, and don't understand why they're not as docile.  Yes, I want our country protected from attack.  I also want our country to understand why we're being attacked.

Is this about oil?  About the land dispute between the Israelies and the Palestinians?  About our treatment of the Iraquies, the embargoes, the restriction of medical supplies etc.?

Please address the problems bringing on this anger towards us.  To the American people as well as to the rest of the world, and to the perpetrators of the recent bombings. 

If we merely kill the perps, there will be more of them.  If the American people don't hear the arguments of the perps, from their viewpoint, we will just wonder what's going on.  And our children will have to deal with still more vengeance.
