as i was reading this, bruce springsteen was singing "we shall overcome." 
remember where we come from. 

i never thought i would find a word of kindness for w, but he was spontaneous 
and funny at when he spoke to the rescue workers at ground zero. after all 
that sanctimony and "god on our side" rhetoric,  i credit the spirit of this 
city w/inspiring it. 

someone quoted gandhi as saying, "an eye for an eye will only make us blind." 
(from memory, that is likely a misquote, but you get the gist).

most people here are flowing over with love and compassion for each other, 
and greet each other w/embraces, joyous to find each other alive.
