Dear heart. My grandfather always pulled on his boot immediately upon
arising for the day. I follow his example. My children ridiculed the
reason he gave me for this practice, commanches still lurked about,
when we debated the order of dressing one's self. Let me still urge
you to put on your running shoes first if you awaken and find yourself
alive.
