yes, i know. i have been told that holocaust survivers recognize the smell. 
however, pvc's and benzene as well as unnamed metals have been IDENTIFIED and 
REPORTED as in the air, and the smell is often acrid. my assumption was 
pvc's. i have never seen more people w/ailments, coughs, colds, and shortness 
of breath (nyu women's swim coach said her team commented on that when i did).

i am neither unduly fearful, nor comforted. i am reporting observations.
