We are always talking about how the piggy USA gobbles up all the world
resources and what greedheads we are...

why do these critics never mention that huge amounts of these resources
that we are "consuming" are actually converted into goods that are then
re-exported to the world with the value added of our ingenuity,
organization, and energy. Let the USA take the PR heat, meanwhile I want
that new toaster in El Salvador or Brazil.

Everyone looks at what is coming in, but not what is going out...this is
true for Western Europe and Japan as well, and soon will be the modus
operandi for China. Gee, what will happen when all the USA haters cannot
have us as the largest polluter and consumer of goods and services...? Who
can they blame then?

The biggest problem is still population...as long as people "want things".
Critics want to bitch about where they are made, but they still drive their
cars and buy their dishwashers, computers, and get their roofs fixed. Too
bad the Allah of the Islaminc fundamentalists doesn't think the USA should
be doing his.

...maybe we should all go back to being Zen saints like Jon or retired
millionaires like Roger?
