At the risk of sounding like just another fringe/lunatic/hyper-patriotic
fruitcake, my personal view is that ANY religion or cult which believes it
is "God's/Allah's Will" that permits them to bury women alive (for
adultery/related) deserves to be exterminated down to the very last
man...and I think I can safely use the word "man" here. We can not achieve
any sense of economic parity or social justice with these neo-lithic belief
systems in place and willing to kill everyone else in order to satisfy their
personal quest for power and/or religious distortions. So, specifically
regarding the Taliban, I am pleased to quote that hoary old phrase "Kill 'em
all and let God...or Allah...sort 'em out."
I might add, but probably shouldn't, that as we have spent billion$ on
billion$ of dollars over the last forty years developing a lot of "weapons
systems", this is as good a place as any to put our tax dollars to use.
One final caveat. Should we achieve some sense of victory, or "Victoryize"
the situation, as our Prez might say, we need to ensure that the long-term
goal is economic and social improvement of this region, not simply keeping
it in poverty so as to make its oil cheaper for us in the future. Some
might say that our "cheap" oil has cost/is worth 5,000 lives.....

Subject: the end game?
there are reports of American troops on the ground
in southern Afghanistan.
let us pray now that few Americans will die but lots
and lots of Arab warriors will. remember what Patton
told his troops, Im not asking you to die for your
country Im asking you to make the other guys die for
their country. everyone of these volunteer Arab
warriors in Afghanistan is our implacable enemy and
must be killed or imprisoned for life. said to be
less than 1000.
science and technology and will-power may actually be
the trump card.
