Seymour Hersh had a very good quote in his recent piece in the New Yorker
about the failures of the CIA leading up to the recent unpleasantness...it
was:
"The most important weapons in the war against international terrorism were
being evaluated by men and women who, as one of the retired officers put it,
"wouldn't drive to a D.C. restaurant at night because they were afraid of
the crime problem."
This is our big rough and tough CIA? Parlous times indeed.
