<h2>Dear Friends of Folklore,</h2><BR>
<P><B>We are now addressing to you, inviting you to attend "Euro Folk 2003" International Summer Festival, which will be held in the former Bulgarian capital of Veliko Tarnovo from 30th July till 12th August 2003. Studio audio recordings, filming of video clips and concert recordings will be made to each participating group. From these recordings an individual professional TV film will be made, which each group will receive on DVD together with the right of broadcast and distribution. The payment for that film is included in the prices, stated in the regulation of the festival.</B></P>
<P>The participant from the chosen prices, stated in the regulation covers expenses for participation. The deadline for the application forms is 30th April 2003. In order to make recordings of high quality each group must stay in Veliko Tarnovo at least one week.</P>
<p>This year Stara Planina Fest "Balkan Folk" continue to emerge as the biggest, the most beautiful and the most valuable feast of the traditional folk arts in Europe. The biggest - with the participation of 14 000 /fourteen thousand/ singers, dancers and musicians from almost all of the Bulgarian Municipalities. The most beautiful - with the beauty of the folk costumes - with the beauty and the youth of the participants, with the wonderful songs, dances and customs combined with the unrepeatable panorama of Veliko Tarnovo. The most valuable because of the nine thousand performances, which managed to pass the exam of the time and are more than 100 years old and some of them are even from centuries and millennia. <B>This is why Stara Planina Fest "Balkan Folk" is #1 European feast of the traditional folk arts.</B></a></p>
<p>The European recognition of Stara Planina Fest comes from the participation of creative groups from 16 European countries. The brilliant groups from Moscow, Athens, Kiev, Belgrade, Prague, St. Petersburg, Zagreb, Porto, Cambridge, Krakow, Tirana, Catowitse, Constants and other European cities are a real decoration for every stage. The high appraisal about the role and the importance of "Balkan Folk" in contemporary Europe could be seen from the following facts. By decision of the Municipal authorities of the Portuguese town of Porto, to the Chairman of the Fest was given the Honorary sign of Porto. The marvelous group of Moscow's state historical-ethnographic theater took part in the Fest by the personal recommendation of the Mayor of Moscow - Mr. Jury Lujcov. This is a high recognition for the long efforts of hundreds of thousands deserving Bulgarians in creating Stara Planina Fest "Balkan Folk".</p>
<p>Bigger part in the serious achievements of Stara Planina Fest "Balkan Folk" is due to the combination of the beauty and the power of the traditional folk arts with the contemporary television technologies. Till now the producers of the Fest - Euro Folk Academy and Balkan Folk Academy has made over 1200 television products, which are broadcasted by 50 cable televisions in Bulgaria and by several satellite televisions with European holding. With the cooperation of Bulgarian national television the producers of the Fest participated with 26 folklore television films on the Film festival in Cane and on other international television markets. The catalogue of these films is enclosed. But on the background of the world-growing television expansion this seems to be not enough.</p>
<P>That is why the organizers decided on the basis of Stara Planina Fest "Balkan Folk" - #1 fest in Europe for traditional folk arts to organize "Euro Folk 2003" Musical Feasts - The World is Television, which are going to take place in Veliko Tarnovo from 1st May till 12th August 2003. "Euro Folk 2003" Musical Feasts - The World is Television consists not only of Stara Planina Fest "Balkan Folk" but of 7 more Festivals, two of them are televisional. The preliminary program for "Euro Folk 2003" Musical Feasts - The World is Television is enclosed.</P>

<P>The beauty and the energy of our ancestors are preserved in the live performances of the traditional folk arts.
