About GPUK-users

This list is for use by subscribed GPUK.net website owners, and also for those who are trying out GPUK.net facilities with a view to subscribing. The main function of this list is for users to ask for help from each other, and in return to give help to each other, and for general discussion and sharing of ideas as to how best to use GPUK.net facilities and services. Whilst GPUK.net support staff are subscribed to this list and may help out from time to time this is not an official support channel. Please use the standard support methods as indicated on the support page. However by being subscribed to this list we shall be able to see which areas are causing difficulty and know where improvements are needed. GPUK.net is still undergoing further development and by monitoring this list we can note what areas users find lacking and use new ideas that arise to guide future development. If you wish to share files with other users, e.g. background graphics, logos, stylesheets, please do NOT send them to the mailing list as file attachments. Instead you should use an ftp program to upload them to the "incoming" directory at ftp.gpuk.net anonymous ftp server. Use username ftp and for password put your email address. The files will not be available immediately but will soon be moved to a publicly available directory on the ftp server. When uploading files please only upload files which are copyright free or for which you own the copyright, and email details (e.g. description, purpose, your name and email address) to uploads@gpuk.net so that we are alerted that there are files to be moved to publicly available areas. Subscribing to GPUK-users

Subscribe to GPUK-users by filling out the following form. This is a closed list, which means your subscription will be held for approval. You will be notified of the list moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   You must enter a privacy password. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
